Miranda shared some touching tweets reflecting on his time as both the star and creator of Hamilton on Saturday morning, Variety reports.

Later today, a chapter in Broadway musical history will come to a close when Lin-Manuel Miranda plays his final performance as leading man Alexander Hamilton in HAMILTON.
Outside the Richard Rodgers Theatre – where tickets for the 1,319-seat venue’s final Miranda performance were listed on reseller sites for as high as $20,000 apiece – a crowd of hundreds massed as police amiably but sternly kept onlookers behind barricades and kept the front of the theater clear for an audience line that stretched completely through the Marriott Marquis alley from West 46th to West 45th Street.
Tonight is also the final performance for two other principle cast members – Leslie Odom Junior, who won a Tony for his role as Aaron Burr, and Phillipa Soo, who portrays Eliza Schuyler. Next up for Manuel? Miranda will next star opposite Emily Blunt in Disney’s sequel to “Mary Poppins” and he wrote music for the upcoming “Moana”, an animated film with a Polynesian princess at its heart.
It’s no secret that Hamilton is already a Broadway classic after winning 11 of its record-setting 16 Tony Award nominations, but the Alexander Hamilton hype train may have just officially gone off the rails.
Many long-running Broadway shows including “Jersey Boys”, “The Phantom of the Opera” and “Chicago” have gone through numerous cast changes without losing momentum and experts say “Hamilton” will manage the transition well because it’s never been a star-driven show. After originating the role and performing it for a year and a half (not including all the workshopping, etc.), Miranda is bowing out, with his rather excellent alternate Javier Munoz taking over the role.
“I will cherish #Hamilton”, Soo tweeted. “‘Til next time, folks!'”

And even though he is saying goodbye on Saturday, the actor has said he may one day return to the $10 founding father. “I feel very lucky that I’ve built something that I can drop in on over and over again”.
