Jack Mackercher and his girlfriend Jordan suspected something wasn’t quite right when they discovered a purse was missing from their IL home on Tuesday.

A Chicago couple found out about an intruder watching them in their sleep through their surveillance system.

The video shows the intruder lurking at the top of the stairs while the couple is asleep downstairs.
The couple didn’t realize anything was wrong until Buranskas woke up the next morning, looking for her purse.
‘So that’s when you go flush and start to freak out a little bit’.
Around 3:30 a.m., while they were both passed out in Mackercher’s living room, a hooded figure appeared out of the upstairs bedroom.
“I’m like, ‘Why are you at the top of the stairs wearing a white hoodie before we went to bed?’ She’s like, ‘I wasn’t at the top of the stairs, ‘” Mackercher recalled to WLS. An intruder had crept in through an unlocked door. Other neighborhood residents have even spotted him riding around town on a bike and attempting to break into other homes.
Mackercher hopes that an increase in police patrols will lead to the capture of the suspect.
The only missing item was the purse, they added to WGN, and detectives are investigating. WLS-TV Chicago reports that the thief has been given the name “Creeper Ghost”, and he’s believed to be responsible for a number of local burglaries.
