After what a few Californian’s believed was a UFO casually flying over the state on Saturday turned out to be just an ordinary Naval rocket test-fire, a picture of a seemingly dead, unidentified creature allegedly found in a California resident’s backyard surfaced on social media on Sunday – and naturally, the Internet cried “alien”.

As you might expect, a lot of people don’t agree.
Social media users were quick to react.
The small, gruesome creature appeared to have no hair and two limbs.
The HuffPost reached out to Peponis, but she hasn’t responded.
A photo of the slimy form was taken by Gianna Peponis and posted on Facebook.
It is unknown whether biologists have examined the actual creature in the photos.
Piesseji wrote: “Miscarried deer half-eaten by racoons etc”. “It is also possible that a portion of the deer was already consumed by a scavenger and the rest left behind”.
The photo was uploaded after a unusual light streak was seen over the California sky, which baffled the public and caused a few to predict that the light was an indication of a UFO.

Peponis, however, is sticking to her guns. She says, ‘I heard something scream at like 11.30 last night and went out on my side yard and found this thing. “There is going to be opposition in all truth”, she said.
