What started as a three-acre brush fire near Simi Valley and Thousand Oaks hit 30 acres Wednesday afternoon, Ventura County Fire confirmed.
Crews are attempting to establish a line around the fire and have requested air assistance from Los Angeles.
Parker said access to the blaze was hard. The fire’s containment was likely to increase after a morning review of its perimeter, Ventura County Fire Capt. Scott Dettorre told The Times on Thursday.
The so-called Brush Fire, is among scores of blazes that have ravaged the drought-stricken western United States this summer which California fire officials have described as “unheard of fire behavior”.
