Search crews are using dogs and helicopter to help locate two boys who went missing in the Red River Gorge Thursday night.
One boy was identified as 5-year-old Michael Esposito of Batavia, Ohio.
The area around the campsite is described as extremely treacherous.
The mother of Michael Esposito told WLEX that a miscommunication about who was watching the boys led to their disappearance. The boys are cousins, family members said.
The family said the last time the boys had been seen was when they were setting up the camp site.
“We’ve got search and rescue out”, Veeneman said.
Overnight lows dipped into the mid-50s.
State Police Trooper Joe Veeneman said Friday the boys were found about a mile from their campsite.
