PCSO officials said May got lost after his last ski run Thursday while working at the resort. He did not show up for his ride home and it was discovered Friday morning that he had not returned home during the night. Rescuers later picked up a signal from his phone, but still couldn’t find him.

More than 43 people started the search Saturday, but the department says high avalanche danger and heavy rains are limiting the search area. The Tahoe Nordic Search & Rescue team, ski patrol and Placer County deputies were all searching the area where the skier was last seen.

Placer County Sheriff’s Office are still searching for a skier who recently went missing while hitting the slopes at Sugar Bowl Resort.

The search started at 7 a.m. Saturday morning.

“His belongings are still in his locker at the resort”, officials said. Crews have searched the mountain near and around Sugar Bowl on January 15 and 16.
