Mirpur police deputy commissioner Qayumuzzaman said the woman, Nitya Shahadat, was arrested from Malibagh Saturday night.
Shahadat Hossain, who is the prime accused of the case, remained absconding for almost a month.
On September 6, the maid, Mahfuza Akhtar Happy, brought allegations of torture by Shahadat and his wife.
“She got her complaints recorded as we saw injury marks on her body and then sent her to the One Stop Crisis Centre of Dhaka Medical College Hospital immediately”, he said.
But several hours later, the 11-year-old girl alleged the cricketer and his wife used to torture her.
“Nritto Shahadat was arrested from her parents’ house”, inspector Shafiqur Rahman told Agence France-Presse (AFP).

Later Police raided the house of the pace bowler and his wife but did not find the couple there. “But we only found her”, he said, adding police were still hunting for Hossain. “It doesn’t matter if he’s a national cricketer or not – he’s an accused before the eyes of the law”.
