Criminal Minds star Thomas Gibson sacked after hitting producer
Gibson had starred on “Criminal Minds” – which focuses on an elite team of Federal Bureau of Investigation profilers who try to anticipate and prevent criminal behavior – since its premiere in 2005. He played agent Aaron Hotchner, the unit chief or the Behavioral Analysis Unit (BAU) team.

Honchos for ABC and CBS did not give detail as to how he went from being suspended to fired within a day, but said in their statement that he was most definitely canned from the series and details of the BAU leader’s exit from the show would be revealed “at a later date”.
“There were creative differences on the set and a disagreement. I regret that it occurred”, he said in a statement. Gibson allegedly struck another co-worker in 2010 and CBS reportedly sent him to anger management classes.
As reported by People, the iconic CBS crime drama will continue into its 12th season without the SC native, who admitted he had “hoped to see it through to the end” but knew after the incident with Virgil Williams that it simply would not be possible. “I would just like to say thank you to the writers, producers, actors, our wonderful crew, and, most importantly, the best fans that a show could ever hope to have”. The actor was said to have frequently been verbally abusive to fellow cast and crew members. Prior to that role, he was also featured in CBS series Chicago Hope, and ABC series Dharma & Greg. His big break as an actor came in landing a role in the 1992 Tom Cruise-Nicole Kidman starrer “Far and Away”.
Remaining stars of the ensemble series include Joe Mantegna, Matthew Gray Gubler, A.J. Cook, Kirsten Vangsness, Aisha Tyler and, a newcomer this season, Adam Rodriguez. Arguably the most popular cast member, Shemar Moore, announced his departure after last season.
