Cristiano Ronaldo: Man Utd want Real Madrid forward – Van Gaal

Manchester United manager Louis van Gaal wishes to have Cristiano Ronaldo back at Old Trafford, after his side showed a distinct lack of striking edge in their fortuitous 2-1 win over Watford in the Premier League on Saturday.

“Of course we are looking – but are looking at all players, not just Ronaldo”.

The Red Devils lack world class attacking talent at the moment despite boasting players such as Juan Mata, Memphis Depay, Wayne Rooney and Anthony Martial, and scoring goals has been a problem for Van Gaal’s side in the league thus far.

On his future Bale said on the weekend: “My plan when I first started playing football was to try to reach the pinnacle – and Real Madrid is the pinnacle”, he said in an interview with several national newspapers. “You have seen that now we play with Jesse Lingard and he is not the most speedy winger in the world and Mata is also not the most speedy winger in the world”.

Ronaldo was signed by Old Trafford in 2003 from Sporting Lisbon for £12.24 million.

Ronaldo, who became Real’s all-time record goalscorer last month, has been linked with a move following a run in which he has failed to score in nine of his last 13 appearances for club and country. In terms of individual [performances] I probably did the best season of my career, which is good.

“Van Gaal is a rigid coach (though), he likes it his way”.

“I don’t think he actually will have a lot of options, depending on what Real Madrid want for him”, added Samuel.

“When I was talking with him – ‘I don’t know.’ He says, ‘Pat you know the way I love Man United, ‘ Evra continued”.

SIR ALEX FERGUSON insists Cristiano Ronaldo will get married in Scotland – if he ever gets ties the knot.

Now 30, United would need to splash the cash to bring back Ronaldo, however.

“There’s a political game going on between Ronaldo and Florentino Perez around (Rafa) Benitez”.
