Cruz Booed For Not Endorsing Trump At GOP Convention

As reporters in the hall noted, Trump supporters, led by the NY delegation directly in front of the stage, chanted for Cruz to endorse Trump, yelled “say it!” and heckled and booed him when he did not. Trump called Pence his “partner” but left no doubt in a rambling speech that Pence’s role will be as sidekick to the billionaire businessman at the top of the ticket.

This resulted in booing of Cruz by Trump supporters as millions of Americans and people globally saw bringing to the fore the divide in the Republican party.

A speech writer for Melania Trump has apologised for passages she included in a speech to the RNC.

On Tuesday night at the convention, Mr Trump’s children delivered speeches about their father, the family man. “I’m going to vote my conscience”.

Speaking after Cruz, former House Speaker Newt Gingrich tried to do damage control. “In this election there is only one candidate who will uphold the Constitution”.

Pence framed the November presidential race as crucial to defining the makeup of the Supreme Court for the next 40 years.

He then went on to criticize Hillary Clinton and praised the changes that Trump will bring if elected.

The delegates and attendees on the convention floor seemed to feel the same way, that Cruz spoke as though he himself were the Republican Party’s nominee. He joked that Trump is charismatic and must have been looking for balance in choosing him. Marco Rubio, who did endorse the billionaire in their speeches.

“After a long and spirited primary, the time for fighting each other is over”, he said, adding that Trump is committed to conservative governance and Supreme Court. General Mike Flynn said: “We do not need a reckless president who believes she is above the law”.

In another twitter post, Trump criticized the United States media for spending more time “doing a forensic analysis of Melania’s speech than the Federal Bureau of Investigation spent on Hillary’s emails”.

It took two days, but Donald Trump’s presidential campaign on Wednesday acknowledged cribbing from First Lady Michelle Obama’s speech – unintentionally, the campaign said – when writing Melania Trump’s own speech.

McIver says she offered her resignation but it was rejected by Donald Trump. “A person she (Melania Trump) has always liked is Michelle Obama”, Xinhua quoted McIver as saying. IL delegates say Trump’s speech will be the pinnacle of the convention.
