Specifically, the ad features footage of the billionaire businessman in a 1999 interview supporting abortion rights. “Cruz’s campaign of personal insult, deceptions, push polls and ads so misleading they can’t be aired”, said Rubio in a statement issued late in the afternoon. Although most legal experts believe Cruz meets the Constitution’s requirement that presidents be “natural-born” citizens because his mother was a U.S. citizen at the time of his birth, Trump has repeatedly cast doubt on Cruz’s eligibility.
