Cruz defends his refusal to endorse Trump
In a slew of emails to supporters Thursday, she spoke of a loving dad who encouraged his young daughter to succeed, of an inspirational leader and a crack negotiator destined to win.

NY billionaire Donald Trump on Thursday formally accepted the Republican Party nomination for president, vowing to defeat Hillary Clinton in November and claim victory in the U.S. general election.
“Overwhelmingly people (in the delegation) are upset with Cruz, even Cruz supporters”, said delegate Matthew Ridenhour, a Mecklenburg County commissioner. “It was very self-serving”.
The Indiana governor has close ties to some of the wealthiest contributors in the party, both through the Republican Governors Association and the Koch political network, where he has always been a favorite. I’ll be talking about many different things.
“Mr Trump’s speech will focus on his vision”, his campaign chairman Paul Manafort said Thursday, and “deal with current affairs such as the crisis facing cities and terrorism”.
Winnie said Trump will likely highlight support for law enforcement in light of recent events. He refused to say whether he would vote for Trump, who during the primary battles insulted Cruz’s wife, Heidi, for her physical appearance and suggested that his father was linked to late President John F. Kennedy’s assassin.
“He went back on a promise he made”.
“I think she’s going to get a wonderful reception”, said Georgia delegate Donna Rowe.
She said she wasn’t surprised by the response from delegates.
“People behind me (in the arena) were dropping cuss words left and right. If they fulfil their obligations to us, the answer is yes”.
“We are going to build a great border wall to stop illegal immigration, to stop the gangs and the violence, and to stop the drugs from pouring into our communities”, Trump said. “It showed there’s tremendous unity”.
His address on the closing night of the convention marked his highest-profile opportunity yet to heal Republican divisions and show voters he’s prepared for the presidency. And so I can understand why there’s still some hesitation, but, again, it’s a decision of conscience.
Cruz, known as a ideologue of the conservative Tea Party movement who strongly favors small government, has been a controversial figure in the party himself, upsetting fellow Republicans in Congress by plowing his own furrow.
“In the president’s hometown of Chicago, more than 2,000 have been the victims of shootings this year alone”, Trump said. When they saw Trump’s plane fly over, they erupted in a chorus of boos. Nonetheless, many delegates here paid close attention to Pence’s address and felt he skillfully described his humble IN upbringing to a nation still widely unfamiliar with him. “You can not support somebody just because they’re Republicans”.
Republican presidential candidate Donald Trump (R) looks on as his daughter Ivanka Trump leaves the stage on the last day of the Republican National Convention on July 21, 2016, in Cleveland, Ohio. It’s principles over party….
“What Donald Trump did was genius in balancing the ideological and geographic perspective and the style factor that people may want to see”. “And I think that’s a real tribute to her because certainly anyone as gorgeous as she is could have probably gone quite far being skin-deep”.
“It’s when you do somebody a favor and they turn around and support something that was unacceptable, actions have consequences”, he said.
