Cruz gives non-apology for ‘New York values’ comments
Asked if Cruz was making a subtle ethnic dig with his “New York values” comment, Trump said he didn’t know, adding, “probably you would have to ask him”.

Cruz said in the debate, “Everyone understands that the values in New York City are socially liberal or pro-abortion or pro-gay-marriage, focus around money and the media”.
Trump responded by citing the city’s response to the September 11 attacks.
“Interestingly enough, Donald J. Trump would be disqualified…because Donald’s mother was born in Scotland”, Cruz said.
“I’m gonna say, and I know people are gonna scratch there heads and go, ‘what?’ but I don’t you can”, Steele said to radio host Rich Zeoli on 1210 WPHT when asked if someone could stop Donald Trump.
Friday, in South Carolina, Cruz issued his own version of an apology.
“Like that’s a bad thing?”
I would think not. “What did he mean by that?”
While there were pointed exchanges and raised voices at times, it was a response from Donald Trump to an attack from Cruz that quieted the North Charleston, S.C. hall. Think of it, he spent $69 million, I spent nothing. He also apologized to small businesses “driven out of New York City by crushing taxes and regulations”. While that ad painted an alarming picture of a country under attack by jihadists and immigrants entering the country illegally, the new ad is much more traditional, featuring footage of Trump speaking at a recent rally in Lowell, Massachusetts. Cruz will attend the last event in the series on Tuesday.
“I imagine it pulled him out of bed this morning and sent him tweeting and tweeting and tweeting”, he said. He said the mayor “stands with the looters and criminals rather than the fearless men and women in blue”.
A fourth reason why Cruz is ineligible to be president – and this is the most important point – Cruz is a “natural born citizen” of Canada. Lawsuits have just been filed with more to follow.
Some may say that since Trump was born in America, that makes him a natural born citizen. But the Supreme Court hasn’t previously considered the eligibility question.
And repeating criticism he outlined in Thursday’s debate, Rubio likened New Jersey Gov. Chris Christie’s policies to those of President Barack Obama.
The disclosure of the loan from Citibank comes after the Texas senator was already facing scrutiny for failing to properly report a loan from Goldman Sachs for $500,000 that was also used to fund his 2012 bid.
“Those loans have been disclosed over and over and over again on multiple filings”, Cruz said on Wednesday, according to Politico. Earlier this week, Cruz portrayed the first unreported loan, from Goldman Sachs, as a paperwork error. Cruz’s tax plan, in particular, would “really hurt seniors”, Rubio said.
Yes, Trump is very offended that someone would question whether he is constitutionally qualified to be president – when that’s all he’s been doing for the past two weeks.
