Cruz In Virtual Tie With Trump In New National Poll
Among registered voters who said they would participate in a GOP primary, he drew 26% support in the new poll, trailing Mr. Cruz, whose support rose by eight points to 28%.

More than half (52%) name Trump as their first or second choice for the nomination (Cruz is named by 41% as first or second, Rubio by 35%). Trump says he has evolved into a conservative and is now against abortion. In a hypothetical one on one, Cruz would beat Trump 56 to 40 percent, and Rubio would beat Trump 57 to 41 percent. “We were excited when we got the word that this was a real possibility”, Rubio said after bagging Haley’s endorsement. “Think of it. Hard to believe”. Clinton would likely win with 44 per cent support, compared with 37 per cent for Trump.
“You have been threatening frivolous lawsuits for your entire adult life”, said Cruz, a Harvard Law School graduate, speaking directly to Trump.
Cruz, whose father is from Cuba, said he would not visit Cuba as long as the Castro brothers remain in power.
Meanwhile, MSNBC gave Donald Trump his own (pre-recorded) event, co-hosted by Joe Scarborough and Mika Brzezinski of Morning Joe. Cruz said the president’s opening to Cuba is indicative of a failed foreign policy.
But Rubio called out fellow Cuban-American, Cruz. Just last month Trump held a 13-point lead over Cruz in the same poll.
As for whether the survey shows Republicans pulling away from the billionaire businessman after his accusations that President Bush had lied before the Iraq War and failed to keep America safe, McInturff added, “One poll post-Saturday debate can only reflect there may have been a “pause” as Republican voters take another look at Trump”. It’s also Trump’s lowest support in a national poll since late November. Trump also leads by double digits in recent polling in SC, the next state to vote. Cruz denied being involved with anything untoward.
“He’s been lying”, Rubio said during the CNN forum.
“We got to the Deep South, as you know in MS, we’ve got [former Senate majority leader] Trent Lott, and really the whole establishment pretty much locked down in MS”, he said.
“Let me just say, I’ve dealt with many people over my lifetime, and I’ve been very successful, and I’ve dealt with some people a lot tougher than him, but I’ve never dealt with anybody that lies like him”, Trump told ABC on Tuesday morning. “I probably would take the opportunity to nominate someone”, Carson said.

“The pundits have made it all – it’s all decided. I should stop campaigning maybe”. “It’s all done”, he said.
