Cruz Mocks Trump as Empty Chair

A new national survey just released by Public Policy Polling shows that although Donald Trump is still the national frontrunner, he’s lost significant support among the GOP field since coming in at second place in Iowa Monday.

In the run-up to the Iowa caucuses, Republicans Donald Trump and Ted Cruz, two anti-establishment candidates, had dominated the polls in the state while Rubio lagged well behind. “It was a way to get more votes and I think he probably did get more votes”.

Trump quickly deleted his original tweet, and then tweeted it again without the word “illegally” and fixing the typo.

Both Donald Trump and Ben Carson have accused supporters of Senator Ted Cruz of committing fraud.

Carson defended himself, but wouldn’t go as far as to call the Cruz caucus rumor fraud.

Mr. Trump, at his own event, described it as Mr. Cruz telling people, “Ben Carson quit, and let me have your vote”.

Mr. Trump tried to use the flap between Mr. Carson and Mr. Cruz to his benefit, accusing Mr. Cruz of deploying dirty tricks to harm his rival in the caucuses.

“I think we’re gonna do well, and we’ll see what happens”, Trump said on New Hampshire Today.

His withdrawal leaves 10 Republican candidates in the 2016 White House race.

He said his political team had forwarded an initial CNN news report saying Carson was taking a break from the campaign trail, but did not forward an update to that same story.

Trump also attacked Cruz from the stump on Tuesday night, bashing the Canadian-born senator’s honesty, Business Insider reported.

“And finally, Cruz strongly told thousands of caucus-goers (voters) that Trump was strongly in favor of ObamaCare and “choice” – a total lie!”

The former secretary of state and first lady defeated Mr Sanders by less than three-tenths of 1%, the closest result in Iowa Democratic caucus history, the state party said.

Cruz topped Trump by 3 percent in the Monday caucuses despite the real estate tycoon topping the polls there for most of the election cycle.

Cruz’s campaign responded to Trump’s Twitter blast by calling him a sore loser and mocking his rants on social media.
