Cruz pulls a Perry at debate; no one notices
Ted Cruz (R-Texas) had a minor debate stumble during the Tuesday-night Fox Business Network debate.

“Five major agencies that we would eliminate: the IRS, the Department of Commerce, the Department of Energy, the Department of Commerce, and HUD (Housing and Urban Development)”.
Fox News/screengrabMegyn Kelly interview Sen.
In a moment a few people compared to one of the most memorable debate gaffes in recent history, Cruz named the same department twice when listing the federal agencies he would eliminate.
According to the University of Minnesota’s Davis Logsdon, who supervised the study, the results portend “significant challenges ahead” for Cruz’s campaign. For the second time in as many election cycles, a Texas candidate for president had a debate flub when they couldn’t remember the agencies they wanted to eliminate.
“The third one, I can’t”, he said. “I am the son of an immigrant who came to this country legally from Cuba to seek the American Dream, and we can embrace legal immigration while believing in the rule of law”.

“The Democrats are laughing, because if Republicans join Democrats as the party of amnesty, we will lose”, Cruz said. Ted Cruz set a slightly higher bar for himself, promising to eliminate five federal agencies. “And Cruz single-handedly stopped a pro-amnesty wave from swamping the debate stage through John Kasich and Jeb Bush”.
