Cruz, Rubio and Kasich all face must-wins in home states
John Kasich, often seen as a moderate among the candidates vying for the Republican presidential nomination, brought his campaign Monday night to Virginia Commonwealth University, where he was greeting by hundreds of supporters and a handful of protesters.

“As a presidential candidate, Governor Kasich has stood alone as a statesman, committed to an honest and positive message that we as Americans can work together to realize the full promise of our country”, Hodgson said in a statement. Otherwise, he’ll go down as the guy who enabled Donald Trump, and thereby destroyed the GOP. During the 2014 campaign season, Dauterman said Kasich “slipped in the back door” of a Baker Center conference room in order to meet with a number of local Republicans, including Dauterman.
Kasich is holding out that his popularity in the Midwest will save his campaign.
Many donors are nervous about nominating either Trump, who notched massive wins in New Hampshire and SC, or Texas Sen.
Kasich is now running fifth in Nevada, but is technically in fourth after former Florida Gov. Jeb Bush dropped out after a disappointing result in SC on Saturday evening. Now we’re down to Donald Trump, Ben Carson, Ted Cruz, Marco Rubio, and John Kasich.
Gov. John Kasich, (R-OH), is the Governor of Ohio.
“He woke up for 120 mornings and worked from 8 a.m.to 10 p.m. Then, he would come home and tune in to CNN and see that he is at 1 percent in the national polls”.
The College Republicans at VCU hosted the town hall at the Hermes A. Kontos Medical Sciences Building. “That’s real grassroots campaigning and he’s proud of that authentic support”, Rob Nichols said. Hey, what’s the problem, it’s a COMPLIMENT to tell women they’re hot, right?
“When I looked at the field, he by far has the best record and the best experience”, Dent said in an interview Wednesday, adding that Kasich has “the best general-election appeal”.
In one of the most memorable moments at the VCU meeting, a woman told Kasich that five members of her family – including her 16-year-old son – had committed suicide. He did it with immigration, he did it with health care, he did it with pro choice, pro life.

This wasn’t the first time Dauterman had been able to meet with Kasich in person. The state budget has climbed out of the red and is now balanced, Kasich said, and the unemployment rate is at 4.7 percent – the lowest in more than a decade.
