“Hey, @tedcruz are our almost 1k Muslim officers a “threat” too?” Speaking in NY on Tuesday, Cruz had praised the NY police department for their former surveillance program in Muslim neighborhoods.

While Kasich and Cruz have both called for stops on resettling Syrian refugees in the USA, neither have gone as far as Republican front-runner Trump who has called for banning all foreign Muslims from entering the U.S.

Standing alongside New York City Mayor Bill de Blasio, a Democrat, in a press conference on Tuesday, NYPD Commissioner Bill Bratton slammed Cruz.

US Senator Ted Cruz, a conservative who is running second to Trump in the Republican delegate count, called the blasts in Belgium “the latest in a string of coordinated attacks by radical Islamic terrorists”.

The lone path of the OH governor, John Kasich, to the nomination is to extend the race until the party’s national convention in July.

Arguing in favour of torture and referring to the brutal treatment of prisoners by ISIS, Trump said, “we have to change our laws and we have to be able to fight on an nearly equal basis”.

“Lyin’ Ted Cruz just used a picture of Melania from a G.Q. shoot in his ad. Be careful, Lyin’ Ted, or I will spill the beans on your wife!”, he tweeted Tuesday evening, just minutes before polls closed in Arizona.

“What does he even mean when he suggests Muslims are to be patrolled?”

“We need a president who unleashes the full force and fury on ISIS and utterly destroys them”.

Linda Sarsour, executive director of the Arab American Association of NY, said she fears for armed groups “who are emboldened by the commentary from people like Ted Cruz and Donald Trump”.

Cruz campaign spokeswoman Alice Stewart said that a stepped-up police presence in Muslim neighborhoods “will both identify problem spots and partner with non-radical Americans who want to protect their homes”. In recent weeks, those associates said Bush has determined that Cruz is now the most electable alternative to Trump, an opponent with whom he bitterly clashed.

Asked whether an attack in the United Kingdom is inevitable he said he would not “patronise the public by saying that we are going to be capable of stopping every attack” but highlighted that police had prevented seven attacks in a period of 12 months.
