Some Wisconsin delegates at the Republican National Convention said they are disappointed that Texas Senator Ted Cruz stopped short of endorsing Donald Trump.

On Thursday morning, a defiant Cruz continued to ratchet up his war against Trump, declaring that he would not grovel “like a servile puppy”.

Donald Trump officially accepted the presidential nomination of the U.S. Republican Party on Thursday night, announcing a plan that will “put America first”.

After it became clear that Cruz was not intending to endorse the party’s nominee, the crowd at the Quicken Loans arena in Cleveland, Ohio, broke into chants of: “Endorse Trump!”

In beginning his remarks today, Cruz said, “I recognize there are some folks here and elsewhere at the convention who are not happy with me”. I asked if he planned to endorse Donald Trump. “Only senator Cruz chose to slip away with something on ‘conscience, ‘ and frankly, his was the only speech at the convention that was poorly received”, Manafort added.

“Scott Walker’s speech, Marco Rubio’s comments really gave evidence to the fact that we are a party that is coming together”.

The speechwriter, Meredith McIver, said Mrs. Trump had read excerpts of Mrs. Obama’s speech to her as examples of things she liked.

According to CNN, Cruz didn’t back down at a raucous appearance Thursday morning, telling members of the Texas delegation in Cleveland: “I am not in the habit of supporting people who attack my wife and attack my father”.

“My thing is, your word is your bond”, said Sam, who ripped Cruz for backing out of a pledge to support the eventual Republican nominee. “I guess he was just looking for some balance on the ticket”, Pence joked of Trump.

Trump then addressed the National Enquirer story that included a photograph they claimed was Cruz’s father with Lee Harvey Oswald, another grievance Cruz cited as his reason for not endorsing Trump.

Trump repeatedly mocked Cruz throughout the campaign as “Lyin’ Ted”.

Cruz said, though, he’s watching Trump carefully.

Cruz admitted that there are many options that he could have taken, including to “turn tail” and not go to the convention. “It’s between – one of two people is going to be next president of the United States”, Walker said.
