As many as 34 percent of Republican primary voters say that bringing needed change is the candidate quality that most mattered in their vote decision; Cruz and Trump run neck and neck among these voters. We have a choice.
Mr Cruz is unlikely to earn enough delegates to win the nomination outright, but Republican Party leaders have rallied around the Texas senator in hopes of wounding Mr Trump.
Trump’s campaign said in a memo that if elected, he would use a USA anti-terrorism law to cut off remittances from people living in the United States illegally.
After taking Wisconsin, Sanders has now won 15 states to Clinton’s 18. “I don’t know if he’ll get any support if he gets into the White House, but it’s worth a shot”.
On the Democratic side, voters are more excited about Vermont Sen. Bernie Sanders, I-Vt., sings during a campaign event, Monday, April 4, 2016, in Milwaukee.
Mrs Clinton congratulated her rival on Twitter and thanked her supporters in Wisconsin. “To all the voters and volunteers who poured your hearts into this campaign: Forward! -H”.
Recent polling in Wisconsin indicate that the race should be a close one between Clinton and Sanders on Tuesday. With 86 delegates at stake in Wisconsin, Sanders will pick up at least 45 and Clinton will gain at least 31. The contest is expected to be a knock-down, drag-out fight between Sanders and front-runner Hillary Clinton. So far, he’s winning 37 percent. The focus of the campaign now turns to NY which holds its critical primary on April 19.
Based on primaries and caucuses alone, Clinton now has 1,274 delegates to Sanders’ 1,025.
If he wins tonight, it would be the next-largest delegate state to his name.
Clinton’s campaign has cast her overall lead as almost insurmountable.
But Cruz kept his victory speech positive, highlighting his policy platforms and turning his attention toward a possible general election face-off with Clinton.
More than half of Wisconsin’s GOP voters on Tuesday said they would be concerned or scared if Donald Trump were elected president, according to CBS News’ exit polls from the state’s primary.
More than 70 percent of likely women voters said they had an “unfavorable” opinion of Trump, according to a rolling poll average for the five-day period ended April 5.
Meanwhile for the Republicans, Trump was once considered the favorite to win tonight’s Wisconsin primary.
Trump had aggressively campaigned in Wisconsin and repeatedly predicted that he would win there.
Because for nine months now it has seemed that Donald Trump could say and do whatever he liked without there being consequences. Cruz even scored higher among Republicans who said they were feeling “betrayed by Republican politicians”.
Earlier this week, Trump called on Kasich to drop out of race, claiming the OH governor has taken away votes from Trump.
With Wisconsin results included, Trump led with 740 delegates to Cruz’s 514, while Ohio Gov. John Kasich had 143.

Governor Scott Walker, a former candidate for the Republican nomination, added his political heft to the Cruz effort. Cruz and Trump were also briefly in a dead heat on March 28. The process of selecting those delegates is tedious, and will test the mettle of Trump’s slim campaign operation. Cruz won the state Tuesday and spoke to supporters in Milwaukee.
