Cruz says Trump is spreading false rumors
CNN has no reporting to suggest that the tabloid allegations are true or that Trump or any of his advisers are behind the story, which was published this week.

“This is his effort to gain attention to try and stay relevant in a race that he has lost”, said Trump campaign manager, Corey Lewandowski. Ted Cruz accused Trump of stoking false rumors about his personal life on Friday, March 25, 2016, charging that the billionaire businessman and GOP front-runner is trafficking in “sleaze” and “slime”.
An angry Cruz described it as baseless and full of lies and urged people to support him become the Republican nominee. I will continue to make my thoughts known about Donald Trump. The list of Republicans on the hate Donald Trump campaign was large, but as each week rolls out and he looks more than likely to be their parties nomination, the list grows even larger. He said “the truth does not matter” to Trump.
“You know, it doesn’t really matter what (the media) write as long as you’ve got a young and handsome piece of ass”, Trump said in a 1991 interview with Esquire magazine.
Trump also frequently tweets insults about women, and this week, he retweeted a photo of his wife, a former model, and an unflattering one of Heidi Cruz next to it with the caption “A picture is worth a thousand words”. In a statement, the company said, “No one influences the reporting that The National Enquirer does other than our own reporters and editors”.
“We stand by the integrity of our coverage and remain committed to our aggressive reporting on such an important topic”, the spokesperson said in an email.
Cruz is now accusing Trump and his “henchmen” of being responsible for the story. “And if Donald wants to get into a character fight, he’s better off sticking with me because Heidi is way out of his league”, Cruz chest-thumped. “Real men don’t do that and Donald is indicating the fear that keeps him up at night when he lashes out in anger”. Cruz denied having any role in the photo being circulated on the Internet and Trump responded by threatening to “spill the beans” on Cruz’s wife.

Perhaps coincidentally, this latest report comes on the heel of threats by the hacker group Anonymous to expose a sex scandal involving Cruz. Earlier this week Mr. Trump accused Mr. Cruz of posting a nude photo of Mr. Trump’s wife, Melania, on Twitter.
