Also on Wednesday came news that Trump had fallen behind Cruz in a new national poll by NBC and the Wall Street Journal. The poll, conducted February 14-16, shows Cruz with 28 percent and Trump with 26 percent.

Trump’s lead is bolstered by widespread perceptions of him as the candidate best able to handle the economy, immigration and ISIS, and further, that he has the best chance to win in November and would be most likely to change the way things work in Washington.
On Saturday, the day of South Carolina’s primary, Kasich will be holding town halls in MA and Vermont, which – along with twelve other states – hold their primaries on March 1, otherwise known as Super Tuesday. Kasich’s and Rubio’s supporters clock in at the bottom, with just 47 percent of Kasich voters and 51 percent of Rubio voters saying they’d most want to loan their candidate their vehicle.
Ohio Governor John Kasich finished second in New Hampshire and saw a bump in his support in the poll from 3 percent to 6 percent.
Kasich scored a second place finish in the New Hampshire primary, although trailing victor Donald Trump by almost 20 percentage points. Ted Cruz, Dr. Ben Carson and Sen. Bernie Sanders. According to the Real Clear Politics average of recent polls, Rubio holds a four point advantage over Clinton at 47 to 43 percent, while the former secretary of state defeats Trump 47 to 42 percent. Cruz has gained two points and Rubio has gained five.
The poll also finds SC residents feel Sanders is more trustworthy but says in the Palmetto State, both candidates are considered “trustworthy”. Trump, however, has broad support, while Carson’s is at this point quite narrow.
The Republican front-runner for president, who has promised to build a wall along the Mexican border from Texas to California and expel 11 million people who are in the country illegally, accused the Mexican government of using Francis as a “pawn” and said the leader of the Roman Catholic Church “only heard one side of the story”.
In a test of trustworthiness, we asked which candidate respondents would be most likely to loan their vehicle to for a weekend.
Fireworks erupted between Bush and Trump on the subject of former President Bush and his role in destabilizing the Middle East. Trump called the war in Iraq a “big fat mistake”.
But the NBC News/Wall Street Journal poll paints an entirely different picture, with Cruz taking the lead – a result that seems to have puzzled even the pollster who conducted the controversial survey.
