Cruz touts support for arming service members in Tennessee
Bear in mind that the United States doesn’t pick its president by a nationwide popular vote but by electoral votes assigned to states based on their representation in Congress. Mississippi has six such votes, for example, and 270 are needed to win.

It’s not just Cruz’s supporters who believe he’ll surge to the front.
Tennessee is among the Super Tuesday states holding primaries on March 1.
Cruz stood before an emphatic crowd of roughly 2,000 people – on his birthday – with a few words on reducing government oversight.
“These are Southern states, these are conservative states”, Cruz said in Knoxville. Cruz was elected to be the senator of Texas”, he said, “I knew right then that this was the kind of thing that if this if God was in, we would see a miracle happen, that that was the only way that Sen.
He also spoke to media on a range of issues before the rally.
“We will pass fundamental tax reform; we will pass a simple flax tax”, Cruz said.
Cruz also has a staunch supporter in Rep. Bridenstine who endorsed him early, has never waivered, and is spearheading his campaign in Oklahoma. “We’re going to honor the war fighters who give up Christmas so that we can celebrate it. That’s really what this event is all about”, Rep. Bridenstine told KRMG Tuesday. He called for repealing Obamacare, abolishing the IRS and securing the borders.
“That takes a focused commander-in-chief who will send military forcers to do the job they were hired to do”, Cruz said, “without their arms tied behind their backs, without rules of engagement that are so constrictive that they can’t do their job”.
“We will draft legislation that makes health care personal and affordable”, he said.

Cruz still has a slew of others to beat in his own party.
