Crystal Palace on the fringes of Champions League contention, says Alan Pardew

Pardew has worked wonders since arriving at Selhurst Park in January and has transformed them from relegation candidates into Europa League hopefuls in the space of eight or nine months.

“The problem with youth football is that there’s always different views and there are plenty of people at The FA who sit in meetings and come up with certain ideas”, said Pardew”.

“I remember, if my team had done well, having a look in the paper if you’d won a medal or something, or if my primary school had done well, of course you do”. I don’t see how that harms children.

“You could sense the frustration with Ronald Koeman after the match, and they’re four without a win an in danger of falling behind a bit”.

And he believed the Frenchman, who played under him at St Mary’s, was a major loss for the club, with Manchester United luring him away in the summer.

“I think Palace find it hard breaking teams down when the opposition have 10 behind the ball”, Merson told Sky Sports. “It’s not easy to replace someone as influential as Morgan”.

“But Southampton are still a very good side”.

“This has been a fantastic year for us, 2015”.

“If England wanted an English manager after Hodgson, then Pardew is really good and I think he is the best option to be manager of the national team”. If we do, we could end up in the top six.

“Let’s cement ourselves in sixth”. “We’re sixth after 15 games, and you have to be doing something right to be in that position after 15 games”. One hurdle at a time. “We’ll start talking about that in March if we’re close”.
