About the Steven and Alexandra Cohen Children’s Medical Center of New YorkFounded in 1983, Cohen Children’s Medical Center is a 202-bed hospital dedicated exclusively to the care of children.
Consistently ranked as a national leader, Texas Children’s is one of only 11 children’s hospitals to achieve the Honor Roll designation nationally, and the only hospital in Texas – and the southern USA – awarded this distinction. “We will continue to make investments in our mission and in our people through our residency and fellowship programs, recruitment of physician scientists, in our education and research building under construction, and most of all, in our care of patients to ensure they receive the highest quality of care that is compassionate and innovative for best outcomes”. The Children’s Hospital of Philadelphia; 3.
U.S. News introduced the Best Children’s Hospitals rankings in 2007 to help families of sick children find the best medical care available, especially for complex conditions. Hospitals are measured in 10 specialty areas, including: cancer, cardiology and heart surgery, diabetes and endocrinology, gastroenterology and gastrointestinal surgery, neonatology, nephrology, neurology and neurosurgery, orthopedics, pulmonology and urology.
“This recognition is one of many measures of the exceptional care our faculty and staff provide to children and their families every day”.
The rigorous analysis was based on data from the hospitals as well as a survey of pediatric specialists.

Data from the report were compiled by U.S. News & World Report and analyzed by RTI International, a North Carolina-based research and consulting firm. The facility is the largest provider of pediatric health services in New York State, serving 1.8 million children in Brooklyn, Queens, and Nassau and Suffolk Counties. This work is made possible in large part by generous philanthropic and volunteer support from individuals and organizations throughout the state and region.
