At least, we’re hoping this transaction pans out.
De La Rosa is apart of the second trade the Rangers have made this week. It was a $700,000 deal that brought a then 16-year-old on board with the North Siders.
Posting a. 273 batting average, the young infielder tallied 70 hits, 30 RBI, 20 doubles, 32 runs scored and 11 stolen bases over the course of 62 games. He played for the Dominican Summer League (DSL) Cubs in 2013 and 2014 before he began his minor league career in 2015 with the Cubs Class-A Eugene Emeralds.
Now, onto Patton. Spencer was born in Urbana, home of the University of IL.
The 27-year-old Patton went 1-0 with a 0.96 ERA in nine major league relief appearances in 2015 before splitting last season between the Rangers and Triple-A Round Rock. He had been acquired from Kansas City, the team that drafted him in 2011 in the 24th round out of SIU Edwardsville.

Patton, 27, is an IL native with 36 appearances in the big leagues over the past two seasons.
