Rizzo hit an RBI double and scored in the third inning as the Cubs went ahead 2-1, then doubled again during a four-run fifth that pushed the lead to 6-1.

Cueto retired the last eight batters he faced to get through five innings, and long reliever Vin Mazzaro ended up as the pitcher of record in his Giants debut.

“That last at-bat, the pitcher was up, and I’m hoping he can get a quick out”, said Bochy, who watched Cueto use seven more pitches to retire Brandon Finnegan.

San Francisco Giants’ Johnny Cueto hits a two-run single off Cincinnati Reds starting pitcher Brandon Finnegan (29) in the second inning of a baseball game, Monday, May 2, 2016, in Cincinnati.

In New York, David Wright, Yoenis Cespedes and Lucas Duda hit home runs in the first inning as New York teed off, sending veteran hurler Bartolo Colon and the Mets over Atlanta for their ninth win in 10 games.

With the runs, the Reds’ bullpen has now allowed at least one run in 20 consecutive games, tying a modern Major League record set by the 2013 Colorado Rockies.

Cueto endured a six-run third inning in which he threw 46 pitches, the most by any Giant in one frame in more than 12 years. Brandon Crawford’s go-ahead, three-run homer off Drew Hayes in the seventh inning marked the major league-leading 22nd allowed by the Reds bullpen.

Marlins lefty Adam Conley threw no-hit ball for 7 2/3 innings before being pulled by manager Don Mattingly after 116 pitches, and Miami’s bullpen wound up holding off the Milwaukee Brewers 6-3 Friday night. Cueto signed a $130 million, six-year deal with the Giants in the offseason.

Moscot has allowed at least three runs in each of his three starts, but only one was earned against the Mets.

The Reds sent 11 batters to the plate for six runs in the third.

The Reds erased every bit of a three-run lead that Cueto helped to provide in the second inning.

NOTES: Reds C Devin Mesoraco was placed on the 15-day disabled list with a torn labrum in his left shoulder. With LF Angel Pagan still nursing a mild hamstring strain, the Giants recalled LF Mac Williamson from Triple-A Sacramento. C Ramon Cabrera was recalled from Triple-A Louisville…. SS Zack Cozart was out of the lineup with a sore right knee, which underwent reconstructive surgery past year.

Second baseman Joe Panik s tight right groin is better, so I understand, but he s not in the lineup and could miss the series. It’s expected to bother him occasionally all season. They’re also just 18-39 in their last 57 games versus the National League West.

Giants: RHP Jeff Samardzija (3-1) makes his sixth start of the season, trying for a notable win. Over the course of 10 starts in Cincinnati in 2015, he posted a 5.80 ERA with 58 strikeouts across a total of 49.2 innings of work. He s the first pitcher in my career that I played with for an extended period of time and a very competitive pitcher that I have a high level of respect for, so competing against him will be something I m excited about.
