Stephen Curry (26 points, nine assists, nine rebounds) and Klay Thompson (24 points, five steals) paced the reigning champions. Andrew Bogut is always a quiet contributor but he played a key role in this game, scoring 13 points with 11 rebounds a season-high six blocks. Curry, who was on the field with the Panthers prior to Super Bowl 50 down the road in Santa Clara, Calif., went a season-worst 1-of-9 from 3-point range on Saturday after going 11-of-15 from beyond the arc en route to 51 points in the previous game.

Warriors: F James Michael McAdoo (L foot toe sprain) and C Festus Ezeli (L knee surgery) were listed as out.

“You better go in motivated, otherwise he’s going to have a night”, he said.

Head to head, the Warriors are 4-1 ATS in the last five meetings and the home team is 9-4 ATS in the last 13 meetings.

The Warriors have won both games this year in Houston with the last being a 114-110 victory without Curry in the lineup.

Curry told reporters after the win over one of the “other” Western Conference top contenders, “The atmosphere, just the intensity, the adrenaline down the stretch, that’s what you expect for sure”. Unfortunately, Harrison Barnes tuned up the Rockets for 17 points by himself, matching the Rockets total output in the quarter.

What a first half of the season that was!

Will Barton scored 15 of his 20 points in the fourth quarter, and Denver held off depleted Detroit, which was without three starters.

On pace for one of the greatest seasons in National Basketball Association history, the Golden State Warriors approach the All-Star break as favorites to repeat as champs. The Warriors depth and quality rotations have been a big reason for their 46-4 overall record this season. The reality of having Durant accompany Curry and Thompson – two of the most already offensively dominant players in the league – would be in one of these three players not being able to put up the number of shots that they are accustomed to taking.

The Warriors’ starting backcourt outscored the Rockets’ starting guards 29-4 in the first quarter.

Barnes made shot after shot, but Kerr also credited those around him with sparking the run. “The surge from the bench to start the fourth quarter gave us the separation we needed”. What comes in the next week before the trade deadline will be much more important for the fate of this Houston team than anything they do on the court before the All-Star break.

First, he followed a three-pointer by super-sub swingman Andre Iguodala with a three-pointer of his own, pushing Golden State into a six-point lead and prompting a quick Houston time-out.

It was back and forth the rest of the period, which ended with the teams tied at 93-all.

Draymond Green consented to allow Stephen Curry to chase a triple-double this time, especially after he finished the first half with an 18-7-6 line. Curry had 19 points by the end of the quarter and Golden State shot 68 percent on the way to a 42-27 lead.
