Curry lights up Wizards for Warriors’ 8th straight win

And his taunts of the MVP didn’t stop there as Obama commented on the 51 points that Stephen Curry scored for the Golden State Warriors against the Washington Wizards recently, while also matching his personal record for most threes made in a game with 11. “They’re certainly not gonna play that way for 48 minutes, but that’s what makes them unique: They have the ability to throw out a lot of different lineups, in particular a really small one”.

That spot is reserved for President Barack Obama, a powerful man who used the bully pulpit during the Warriors’ visit to the White House on Thursday.

“I was hoping that Riley Curry would be here today to share the podium with me”, Obama said. In turn, the team presented Obama with a basketball jersey that reads “44”, because he’s the 44th president.

But Warriors head coach Steve Kerr, who played on that Bulls team, “wins either way”.

“For those of you that watched the game against the Wizards last night, he was – to use a slang phrase – he was “clowning'”.

“Our general manager, Bob Myers … mentioned to me that you’re going to be a free agent at the end of this year”, Kerr said to President Obama, according to a transcript provided by the White House.

Golden State Warriors guard Stephen Curry (30) moves away from Washington Wizards guard Garrett Temple (17) and center Nene (42), from Brazil, during the first half Wednesday in Washington.

And Obama gave the players something to compete over, saying shooting guard Thompson’s “jump shot is actually a little prettier”.

“In their commitment to the My Brother’s Keeper initiative, promoting mentoring in the Bay Area and nationwide, the team even met with some students in the White House mentoring program before the event”. Now the Warriors team he coaches is a threat to both marks.

“I can’t imagine how that feels”, he deadpanned, to laughs from the crowd. “We want you as soon as your duties are done here in the White House, we’d like you to be the leader of Dub Nation”.

“Let’s face it, the Warriors are in the middle of a very special two-year run”, Obama continued his praise for the team. You racked up a great record.
