Curry’s 40 lifts Warriors to 20-0 start
He attended Carolina’s playoff game in Seattle last season and said he expects friend Cam Newton to be in attendance for Wednesday’s game against the Hornets.

The Warriors are still undefeated this season after a huge third quarter by Stephen Curry. He made 14 of 18 shots, going 8 of 11 from beyond the arc.
Warriors guard Stephen Curry-son of former Hornets swingman Dell Curry and the reigning NBA MVP-scored 40 points in three quarters. After halftime, it was the turn of Curry to heat up as he scored 28 of his 40 points in the third to give the Warriors a big lead, 93-72 entering the final quarter.
But midway through the third quarter Curry got rolling, launching deep 3-pointers, several times turning and jogging back down court well before the ball even went through the net. Four of those performances belong to Curry.
Jeremy Lamb: He started the second half in place of P.J. Hairston, scoring seven quick points as the Hornets briefly trimmed Golden State’s lead to eight points.
Said Stephen Curry: “It was a cool atmosphere to play in, especially on top of my dad’s ceremony”.
“It doesn’t even sound right”, he said. There is a lot of great talent in this league, and obviously, we’re probably not going to go 82-0. No other player has made more than one shot from that distance.
The Golden State Warriors point guard dropped 40 points on the road against the Charlotte Hornets on a night when his father, Dell, was being honored by the home team.
When asked Wednesday who’ll lose first – the Warriors (19-0) or his hometown Carolina Panthers (11-0) – Curry replied, “My answer to that is us, but not until like February which means the Panthers get their Super Bowl win”.
Hawks 96, Raptors 86 – Kyle Lowry scored 22 of his season-high 31 points in the fourth quarter, DeMar DeRozan added 17 points, and visiting Toronto rallied from 17 down in the third quarter to beat Atlanta.
Warriors: Golden State was 16 of 34 from 3-point range.
Before the game, Curry encountered Hornets’ coach Steve Clifford in an arena hallway. Besides, the game is played differently now, with more pace and grace and less aggression. The Hornets played without starting center Al Jefferson, who is scheduled to miss the next two to three weeks with a strained left calf. Also, it was the fifth time this season he’d scored 20 or more in a period. Their season-opening winning streak matched the longest in history out of the four North American team sports.
The Hornets next play the Bulls in Chicago Friday.

The strong start was not enough though, the Hornets were still trying to win the game late, down by 13 with two minutes left.
