Curry scores 46; Warriors now 10-0

That’s how the usual script goes, at least.

I’m not implying Green or Curry are better than Jordan and Pippen, it’s just an interesting comparison to make considering Garnett brought this up. On Wednesday, they didn’t give in. Even a 13-point loss (129-116) for a young and inexperienced team might feel like an accomplishment, given that the Memphis Grizzlies lost to Golden State by 50.

After trailing by 12 points in the first half, the Hawks pulled away down the stretch. They look like an unstoppable force thus far. Karl-Anthony Towns has impacted games nightly with an incredible interior presence and Andrew Wiggins continues to grow after a slow start. His back-to-back 30-point performances (33 and 31 points, respectively) in the two key wins mentioned above were vital to the Timberwolves staying alive.

Speaking of injustice, that would be an accurate word to describe the absence of Ricky Rubio in a game featuring the world’s best playmaker. It is just reads and the flow of the offense. And Curry would be on fire as G-State would roll into Minnesota to tame the Timberwolves. Green has always been the Warriors most important player because of what he does setting the defensive tone.

Minnesota will hit a few rough patches.

While Steph Curry definitely has a 10-0 start on his mind, it’s hard to imagine he isn’t also thinking about the chance to surpass his father. This isn’t the Timberwolves time, not yet.

In the second edition of our weekly podcast looking back on the Thursday night TNT games from a numbers and strategy perspective, Nylon Calculus editor Seth Partnow and I discussed Clippers-Suns and Warriors-Wolves. Zach has been playing a lot of minutes and we know we’ve got a back to back and in a game like this, you’ve got to try to put a guy there with experience.

Stephen Curry is a death machine. “This year, I think we can get to a point where the instincts allow it to happen”.

Curry finished the first quarter 6-for-9 from the floor, including 4-for-5 from beyond the arc, as the Warriors led by 40-27 after the period.

But one thing’s for certain: Walton has surpassed all expectation, as the team and management alike have gained nothing but respect for Walton since the beginning of the season. The Warriors are just too good at quickly exploiting a 4-on-3, as you see here.

And sometimes Curry didn’t even need to pass to beat a double.

From second round pick to All-Star.

Stephen Curry has now scored 20-plus points in one quarter four times this season. Curry went up for the shot. And maybe not! After all…

Believing he would get a foul call, the reigning MVP tossed up a one-handed prayer toward the basket and banked in the 29-foot shot.

Durant has averaged 28.1 points, 7.3 rebounds, 3.0 assists and 1.25 blocks to help lead the Thunder and new coach Billy Donovan to a 5-3 start. That he’s following it up so far this year with 15 points and nine boards? He spends almost as much time at center and “point forward” than he does at power forward.

Phoenix’s guards take over.

Brandon Knight matched his career high with 37 points, shooting 6 of 10 on 3-point attempts.
