The Warriors made a decision to keep Curry out of Monday’s Game 2 entirely, and while that contest was closer, their faith in the rest of the team was rewarded with a 115-106 victory.

Klay Thompson scored a game-high 34 points, and Andre Iguodala came off the bench to add 18 points.

Curry, struggling with a sore ankle after game one, waved and rallied the crowd from courtside after being ruled out.

Meanwhile, Livingston was the glue the entire gamne, scoring 16 points and dishing out 6 assists while playing strong defense. Warriors coach Steve Kerr was asked after the game if the Warriors’ 2-0 series lead gives them more time to be cautious with Curry. Curry says he has indeed played some ball at Drake’s house – a little friendly one-on-one with his brother-in-law there.

Curry only played 20 minutes in Game 1, but the Warriors won 104-78. Teammates hope to have him back in their Thursday game against the Rockets at Houston, Texas. “We want to make sure Steph is right and that his foot is fine and healthy”, coach Steve Kerr said.”Y’all can get rid of that “if necessary, ‘ ” he said, suggesting he expects a four-game sweep”. “We’ve seen teams do that and pay for it, players have paid for it in the past”. The Warriors lead the best-of-seven series 2-0.

Golden State already had beaten the Rockets without Curry once this season, in a 114-110 win December 31 in Houston.

He disappeared for the first two quarters and found a bit of a spark in the third, however his lack of touches frustrated him to the point where he fouled out of the game. “You know Steph’s competitive and wants to play every game he can, but I think we’re in a position where we’ll probably be smart”, Bogut said. James Harden and Dwight Howard tried to connect, but the chemistry just wasn’t there as it has been many times this season.
