Curry still questionable for Warriors for Game 2 vs Rockets

Bogut’s statistics of two points, one block and seven rebounds did not appear impressive, but he helped keep Houston’s eight-time All-Star centre Dwight Howard to 14 points and intimidated the Rockets’ top scorer James Harden from driving to the basket.

The scary reality for the Cavs is that Golden State wasn’t satisfied after last year’s championship.

Kerr said Shaun Livingston will start if Curry can not. Early in the first, Beverly, who sent Russell Westbrook to season-ending surgery a few years ago, was guarding Curry very closely, fouling him repeatedly. You can’t knock somebody for the way he plays. “I don’t think no one on our team is”. “Now he does chippy stuff, but chippy is chippy and dirty is dirty”.

Post-season play at Oracle Arena, though, is a different beast.

Golden State expects the same approach from Beverley in Game 2 Monday night.

Mavericks at Thunder, Oklahoma City leads 1-0.

“Nah, he’s an aggressive player”, Curry said.

If Curry is the kid in timeout, then Kerr is the tough, unwavering father who will get his way.

In that regard, they are kindred spirits. You can’t worry about what happened in the last game. “He can’t go out there and just try to play nice”. Which is why the Warriors are being cautious with Curry and had him undergo treament instead of practicing on Sunday.

The Rockets will be eager to atone for their embarrassing 104-78 loss to the Warriors in Game 1 on Saturday. Look how the (Detroit) Pistons used to do (Michael) Jordan. But no matter how much quality bench play the Warriors get, Curry is arguably the most irreplaceable athlete in any sport. As Green noted, the Warriors have beaten Houston without Curry before. “I’m not sure at this point”.

“He’ll be all right”, Thompson said of Curry. He’s the dude that picks you up full court and talks in your ear the entire time. And the Warriors, in turn, led 60-33 at halftime and were on their way. “There wasn’t much positives”, point guard Deron Williams said.

Check back later today for more on this developing story. He’s supposed to go out there and play to win.

And Curry, quite clearly, won’t be backing down.

“It kind of changes things; we don’t seem to be as good a coaching staff when Steph goes out”, Kerr joked. Aggression from a known defensive pest in Beverley was waving Rockets red in front of a raging bull. With their arms tangled up, the two pushed each other away, exchanged words and received double technical fouls. “Kind of changes things (when Steph isn’t around). We’re not backing down from anybody, and we’re trying to win a basketball series”.

“Next player up. We’ve got a lot of guys ready to play”. He’s getting treatment. We’ll have an update tomorrow.

“I come out here to play basketball, man”, an agitated Beverley said Sunday before cutting short a session with the media. “I appreciate you guys and you guys have a great day”.
