Golden State Warriors head coach Steve Kerr walks the sideline during the first half against the Oklahoma City Thunder in Game 4 of the Western Conference finals in Oklahoma City, Tuesday.
This has been a season of firsts for the defending champion Golden State Warriors, which includes the 73 regular season wins, the most by any team in National Basketball Association history. With Steph Curry, Draymond Green and the rest of the Warriors’ stars playing bad, they will need to step up for Game 5 in order to stave off elimination.
“You can’t win without a high level of energy, and that’s what I bring to this team, and I haven’t been that”, Green said, via The Washington Post. We’ve got potentially three games, two of them at home.
The Warriors face the same scenario those Bullets faced, and Kerr said regaining some momentum in the series by winning Game 5 at Oracle Arena Thursday night could flip the series if the Warriors regain some of their form. “Do that, and we put some pressure on them, and we’ll see what happens”. “Every game is different”. “Everybody’s pretty locked in, focused on the adjustments we need to make and how we need to play”. Green who said he took much of the blame for Game 4, needs to be more aggressive on both sides of the ball. They have to get their swagger back and, “Boy, I don’t know, the Thunder are really tough!” isn’t going to accomplish that.
Superstar point guard Russell Westbrook, who had 18 triple-doubles during the regular season, led the way with 36 points, 11 rebounds and 11 assists, while small forward Kevin Durant, the MVP of the 2013-2014 season, pitched in with 26 points and 11 rebounds.
For the second game in a row, the Thunder didn’t let up in the fourth.
The Oklahoma City Thunder are 6-1 straight up and against the spread in their last seven games with four outright upsets over that stretch.
Just last night Klay Thompson scored 19 straight points in the third quarter and made the game competitive for a little bit.
“We all have to bounce back”, Kerr said.

“I try to use my size and ability to create some havoc”, Westbrook said.
