Custom iPad Pro designed by Jony Ive heads to charity auction
The special iPad Pro designed will be part of the “Time for Design” auction held by Design Museum in partnership with Phillips. The auction, branded ‘Time for Design, ‘ will see profits going to the relocation of the Design Museum from its current location near Tower Bridge, with it set to open up once again in Kensington in November. The 12.9-inch device goes under the hammer in a fundraising event for the Design Museum in London on 28 April.

The iPad Pro is anodized with a yellow dye which makes it very unique among all the standard colors of Apple products which include Space Gray, Rose Gold, Gold and silver.
Jony Ive is no stranger to Design Museum, for he received the museum’s inaugural “Designer of the Year” award in 2003 for designing iMac.
Apple iPad Pro 9.7 is hogging limelight across the world. “Edition 1 of 1” is also laser-engraved at the back of the tablet, proving that it is truly one of a kind. The tablet comes paired with a Smart Cover in blue leather, an Apple Pencil that had a unique gold band around the top, and an orange leather case for the stylus tool, something Apple doesn’t even sell at this point.
The relationship of Sir Jony Ive with the Design Museum travels a long way back.

Do iPad Pro’s regular colors bore you? For example, the Zaha Hadid Foundation has donated three “Mercuric” collection tables; Ron Arad has contributed his striking “D-Sofa” in stainless steel; and pop-philanthropist Bono has parted with his Gretsch “Irish Falcon” guitar.
