Microsoft boasted that this new dashboard was going to be seamless, it was going to allow you to do what you wanted, when you wanted, without interrupting your video or gaming focus. Currently, Cortana is available as a feature on Windows Phone and Windows 10.

Nelson, stated that the beta testers will be given the opportunity to have their hands dirty with Cortana on their Xbox “later this year” when Microsoft rolls it out via the Xbox One experience preview program.
The lack of Cortana at the launch of the New Xbox One Experience is somewhat disappointing, but also not terribly surprising.

Xbox One preview members are testing out a major software update for the console these days which brings the Windows 10-powered dashboard to the Xbox One. It’s recently been added to PS4 feature list mind, so the Xbox One is now lagging behind in this regard.

Microsoft’s upcoming Xbox One Elite controller has a lot of cool benefits, like higher quality build materials, extra trigger switches on the back and replacement thumbsticks and buttons, but perhaps the most exciting feature is that users can remap the gamepad’s functions. He notes that this will give Microsoft a chance to “ensure that the experience is (fine) tuned for gamers” before it gets a full public release in 2016.
