Starbucks is a company that took that idea and ran with it towards the end of past year when it began allowing USA customers in select cities to order and pay for their drinks before they picked them up, and now Londoners can expect the same sort of treatment. According to ITPro Portal, the mobile app has introduced the Mobile Order and Pay feature.
And they’ll be able to order anything Starbucks sells, including customised drinks.
It has also proved useful for speech and hearing impaired people in terms of helping them get their order across quickly and easily. If you update your Starbucks app today, you will henceforth be able to pre-order your favourite Starbucks drink or food from the app and even pay through it. Once a nearby Starbucks counter has readied your order, you will receive a notification on when to collect your order. How wonderful would that be- reaching work on time and enjoying a Starbucks coffee in the process!
The system is being trialled in London initially for iOS users, but if it’s as successful as it was over in the States, it’ll soon be spreading further across the country, and onto Android. And we imagine it won’t be long before it comes to the rest of the UK.
“We think the easy-to-use feature will meet our customers’ needs for convenience and customisation at any time of the day”, said Ian Cranna, Marketing and Category Vice President EMEA.

Payment is addressed in the application based upon a user’s Starbucks profile credibility, which are often crowned right up with an living credit card or Apple Pay.
