Cutler: Bears doing good job picking up new offense
If he accomplishes all that under his fourth offensive coordinator, Adam Gase, he ought to enjoy success. The other four didn’t work out.

He spoke on getting to know the new guys on the team, saying he just thinks they don’t make kids like they used to.
Jay Cutler has not thrown an interception in the first six training camp practices.
“We’re picking up the language and lingo, what the coaches want us to do. And last year, I just felt like we had all the pieces and I just felt like there were a few things that were missing”.
Peyton Manning’s dropped off, but only barely, from 98.0 to 95.0. Now he has Cutler. Asked what he hopes to tap into with Cutler, Gase said: “His intelligence”.
There is no doubt that Jeffery has the size and skill set to be a legitimate number one receiver in this league, it’s just a matter of can he do it, especially since Cutler is throwing him the ball.
“I don’t know if he has been hit too many times”, Marshall said. “His ability to communicate with his teammates”. And he’s able to get our wideouts on the same page.
“Some of the formations and some of the concepts”, Cutler said when asked about similarities. That’s why I’m so passionate about this game, that’s why I give everything when I hit this field.
“Shame on me. Those are the kind of things I discussed with Adam”. He’s been with quarterbacks than can do it and quarterbacks that can’t do it.
Pro Bowl guard Kyle Long raved about the professionalism and fellow guard Matt Slauson called Chicago’s coaches “the most impressive staff” he’s ever played for.
Scrimmages have included an assortment of bootleg passes and moving pockets. There were some things system-wise that I tried to force down Jay’s throat in that first year and I know we were in the NFC Championship and all that but the second year we tried to tailor it more toward things he was more comfortable with and I think that is where he really excelled. “We’ll try to do what we need to do within a game”.
Brandon Marshall has been traded three times, and he has never played in a playoff game in nine NFL seasons. “His ability to move outside the pocket, we really like what he’s done so far and we’ll keep growing that package”.
“Right now, time will tell”, Gase said, via Dan Wiederer of the Chicago Tribune.
“Today was a bad day for us offensively”, Cutler said.
Then, on “First Take“, he did it again.
“The other thing is you go back and look at that offensive line, the center (Olin Kreutz 2010, Roberto Garza 2011) was a really good player”.
“So for me, I just felt like the time was now. I can’t predict”, Fox said, via ESPN.com. “I really have enjoyed watching him come along since the spring”.
Cutler sees elements of the Martz offense in what Gase does. If Cutler can make a fast switch, it can help a rebuilding defense out greatly.
“Right now, my [former] wide receivers coach is still looking for a job and I don’t think that’s fair. Every day we’re getting a little bit better”, said Gase. Forte is predicted to pick up right where he left off last season which is good news for Chicago who is trying to stay more balanced this season.
