Cutler could be out 3-4 weeks with ligament damage

Whether Cutler is available for those 14 games is another matter; he’s expected to have more tests on his right thumb on Monday to determine the extent of the injury.

Jay Cutler has a sprained right thumb that doesn’t need surgery right now, but John Fox wouldn’t rule it out entirely when the Bears’ head coach met the media Tuesday at Halas Hall.

“According to multiple team sources, Cutler suffered his injury in the season opener against the Texans”. That sack caused Cutler to lose a fumble, and he only made two more throws, a bad incompletion and an interception, before he was removed from the game in the third quarter.

The Bears will return to the practice field tomorrow, Fox said if Cutler can’t practice Brian Hoyer will take the reps with the first team.

“I think Jay probably originally hurt his thumb five years ago”.

Went has also completed 60.6% of his 71 total pass attempts in the Eagles first two games but it’s worth noting that 26 of those completed passes flew 5 or less yards past the line of scrimmage.

“Throughout the week, I just realized I’m going back to kind of where my life changed”, Wentz said. Cutler said after the game that the thumb injury contributed to the interception. Not only did New England and the rest of the league get a good look at former second-rounder Jimmy Garoppolo, but 2016 third-round choice Jacoby Brissett could start Thursday night after Garoppolo, who played well, injured his shoulder versus the Dolphins over the weekend.

Bears: Linebacker Lamarr Houston left the game after injuring his left knee trying to rush the passer in the second quarter. Everyone is upset in that locker room right now.

With Wentz showing the poise and skill of a veteran quarterback through two games (though it’s fair to question his opposition, given the wins came against the 0-2 Browns and 0-2 Bears), the Browns might be kicking themselves.

Should the Bears have pulled him earlier?

Regardless of what you read below about Philadelphia Eagles rookie quarterback Carson Wentz, you have to tip your cap to North Dakota State product as he has his team 2-0 heading into his team’s Week 3 home game against the Pittsburgh Steelers.

The Bears cannot catch a break right now in any facets of the game. “I don’t know if he was left in any longer than anyone could’ve guessed”.

“I guess for me, it’s like, I can go out there and make all the plays and be a good receiver now”, he said. The Bears will see Prescott first hand when they visit Dallas and the Cowboys next Sunday night.
