CyanogenMod Rollsout 13.0 Snapshot Builds Based on Android Marshmallow

The CyanogenMod team has released the first official CM 13 Stable Snapshot release for tons of Android devices. Many smartphone manufacturers has promised their customers to release the Android 6.0 Marshmallow update for their smartphones but it is getting too late by them to release the update and the customers are using the aged operating system. One user according to Android Police received the update OTA sharing a screenshot with the publication.

The custom OS comes with new features and customization options such as a new slider for controlling notification alerts, the ability to customize phone’s home screen to a larger extent, a new Floating Action Button for widgets, and a new collection of background wallpapers. Include in the latest OxygenOS 2.2.1 incremental update are security patch update, GMS 3.0 upgrade, and Romanian language support. While soak testing does typically mean that an update is near to its rolling out stage, it does not guarantee that it will happen anytime soon.

Regarding features implemented by CyanogenMod, a few things were changed between the CM 12.1 and CM 13 releases, including: the removal of Whisperpush – which enabled encrypted SMS, the inclusion of an improved camera app based on Qualcomm’s Snapdragon camera, and a re-engineered privacy guard, which is compliant with the new permission model API in Marshmallow.
