Cynthia Nixon Joins The Affair Cast
Sex And The City star Cynthia Nixon has signed on for a guest starring role on the second season of Showtime’s Emmy award winning drama series The Affair, TVWise has learned.

Nixon is on board as couples therapist Marilyn Sanders, who works with Noah, played by Dominic West, and Alison, played by Ruth Wilson.
The Golden Globe-winning drama, created by Sarah Treem, explores what happens when married Montauk waitress Alison Lockhart (Wilson) falls for Brooklyn novelist and father of three Noah Solloway (West). The provocative drama will be told separately from the male and female perspectives – using the distinct memory biases to both misdirect and intrigue.
Her husband Cole (Jackson) struggles to keep it all together, with his wife and with the financially-strained ranch that has been in his family for generations. She next stars in Sundance victor “James White“, slated for release in November.

The titular tryst of Showtime’s “The Affair” may have ruined her marriage, but newly single Helen (Maura Tierney) was the one getting a few action in Sunday’s Season 2 premiere. It will be preceded by the premiere of “Homeland”, which is entering Season 5, at 9/8 p.m. Connecticut.
