Davis said, “They know I don’t have any control over the songs I sing, when they are doing that kind of stuff, it comes back into the mentality that it is a game show”.

The 21-year-old said the hardest part was having to sing songs that neither he nor even his mentor Chris Isaak would have chosen.

“They didn’t judge me on my sing-off, but if anything I’m kind of happy I have control over what I am singing again”.

In response to the critical social media post, Guy reassured the young singer: “I’ve read it mate”. “They can’t twist quotes Jimmy and I warned you the night before, ‘ he continued before telling the 21-year-old ‘let’s chat in person”.
