Cystal Palace confirm Martin Kelly safe after Paris terror fear

Crystal Palace have confirmed that Martin Kelly is safe after the defender was thought to be at a Parisian restaurant just walking distance from one of the locations of a terrorist attack.

He said: “Found a decent little spot for tonight #paris #cafelaperle”.

Crystal Palace’s official Twitter account also posted a message on Friday night to confirm Kelly’s safety after supporters had grown concerned following his Instagram message.

There was confusion about the safety of the former Liverpool player in the immediate aftermath, as pictures of a man with a likeness to the 25-year-old defender, appeared on social media.

His current club have confirmed that the fullback was not harmed din the horrific attacks that took place across the city. It’s not yet clear whether or not the cafe was one of the sites of the attack.

France has declared a national state of emergency and tightened its borders after a deadly night of gun and bomb attacks in the capital.

Elsewhere, up to 100 innocent people were massacred in the Bataclan concert hall after suicide bombers took hostages before blowing themselves up as the horror continued.
