Czech Republic vs Turkey Euro 2016 preview

The extremist fans recently posted on Facebook their stadium infiltration layout, similar to what they published prior to their demonstration in Croatia’s match with the Czech Republic last Friday. Pavel Vrba’s team have showed great spirit in both the games thus far and took a last gasp header for Spain to beat them in their first game, while they came back from two goals down to grab a point against the Croats.

The Czechs and Turks met in a thrilling match in the group stage of Euro 2008, with Turkey coming back from two goals down to win 3-2 after the Czech Republic collapsed in the last 15 minutes.

Spain has already advanced to the round of 16, but Croatia needs at least a draw to secure second place without depending on other results.

Croatia may be without one of its best players for its toughest matches.

The sides shared one win apiece in their 2016 qualifying clashes, with the away side on the day winning in each fixture. “A lot of good plays go through him. They will try to make it hard for us, but we have to prepare ourselves for the best possible team performance”.

Turkey, by contrast, were lacking in bite when they lost 1-0 to Croatia in their opening game before being given a footballing lesson in a 3-0 drubbing by reigning European champions Spain.

“What he has said, he did not disrespect anyone”, Del Bosque told reporters.

After that match, an upset Turan hinted he could quit the national side after Euro 2016, pointing out: “I have worn this shirt more than 90 times and the times I’ve played badly can be counted on the fingers of one hand”.

Instead, we’re anticipating an open, entertaining game, which puts us at odds with the goals markets – and that’s where we’re focusing our attention. “He played a good match against Turkey and a very good match against Czech Republic”. “The only thing we can do as a team is behave in an exemplary manner on the pitch”. We need to win or draw to stay top of the group.

Fatih Terim (Turkey): “I have always said this is the “group of death” and what matters most is getting out of it”.

“But I talk to my players as well, I was expecting them to prepare themselves before the tournament”. We try to get on well with everyone and for everybody to be happy and comfortable. When the game finally resumed, the Croatians gave up a late equalizer, and it finished 2-2.

“We don’t accept any kind of violence in football and I hope all the fans can respect this game, the players and the other fans who enjoy watching the game”.
