D’Angelo Russell: More Ball Movement Without Kobe Bryant

The Heat lost 114-103 to the Washington Wizards, John Wall’s 26 points backed up by 21 apiece from Bradley Beal and Gary Neal.

The Pistons opened the game with a 15-0 run over the first 3 minutes. He was replaced in the starting lineup by Ross…. “Some unsafe habits we have”. He is a five-time National Basketball Association champion, the third highest scorer ever in the National Basketball Association, and won the MVP award in 2008, but the past two years have seen his performance suffer after a number of injuries.

“They kicked our ass”, Bryant said per Baxter Holmes of ESPN on the 2004 Finals.

“It felt absolutely unbelievable”.

“They didn’t say anything to me about it, but I don’t think they were happy about it. And I hope they’re not”, Scott said. He’s scored 891 points against them, fifth all-time among opponents. The only question now is if both teams are willing to let go of this much talent from both players.

Surprisingly, Bryant’s best days on the Lakers’ trip has coincided on the second night of a back-to-back. I think if you talked to general managers and coaches around the league, would you rather have a rookie play too hard and that may lead to mistakes or one that doesn’t play hard? “I’ve been playing two and a half weeks on it and it hasn’t gotten better”.

In a move certain to raise the hackles of Los Angeles Lakers fans, coach Byron Scott has decided to make changes in the starting lineup of the struggling team (3-17). Both Randle and Russell aren’t the kind of the guys to bring ego into a locker room, but as players who take pride in their opportunity, it stings a bit to go through this. In related news, Randle also came off the bench on Monday night for 15 points and 11 rebounds. “I came out there to destroy you”, he said. “They’ve got a lot of work to do”, Scott told reporters.

Notes: Carroll is out indefinitely with a right knee contusion….

Raptors coach Dwane Casey shared stories of seeing Bryant as a rookie, skinny and eating alone in a corner of the weight room. Bismack Biyombo leads in steals with 1.1 per game.

The Raptors announced the news prior to Monday’s 102-93 victory over the visiting Los Angeles Lakers. Lou Williams returned to Toronto for the first time since winning the NBA’s Sixth Man of the Year award last season with the Raptors. When he left the floor for several minutes in the second quarter, Toronto’s crowd chanted “WE WANT KOBE”. Toronto improved to 11-3 when holding opponents under 100 points…. Kyle Lowry exploded for 41 points on 14 of 26 shooting, DeMar DeRozan added 16 points but shot just five of 19 from the field while Lucas Nogueira had 14 points, but some poor miscues late in the game cost the Raptors a chance at upsetting the undefeated Warriors.
