D23: Pixar Previews ‘Finding Dory’ and ‘Toy Story 4’
Finally, 12 long years after the gem that was Finding Nemo, we’re getting Finding Dory very soon, and it looks unbelievable. TV host Ellen DeGeneres who has been quite unrestricted for a sequel through the years has been all smiles lately especially now that a confirmed date has been set for her titular role. “Anything is possible if you’re patient and you beg enough on national television!” The film centers on bunny cop Judy Hopps (“Once Upon a Time’s” Ginnifer Godwin) who heads to the big city to pursue her law enforcement dreams.

“This is so exciting for me”, she said. There were a lot of special guests such as Ellen DeGeneres, John Lasseter, Ed O’Neill, Ty Burrell, and even The Rock himself – Dwayne Johnson. Deadline also reported that the film is set 6 months after “Finding Nemo“. She decides she must go find them, and ends up in a marine institute where animals are cared for. And it has everything I loved about the first one: “It’s got a lot of heart, it’s really amusing, and the best part is-it’s got a lot more Dory”.
Also appearing on stage were Ed O’Neill, who will voice an octopus, Hank; Ty Burrell, voice of a whale, Bailey; and Kaitlin Olson, voice of a shark, Destiny.
In addition, Disney and Pixar announced Diane Keaton and Eugene Levy will join the cast voicing Dory’s parents. A lot of people are anxiously awaiting the “Parks & Resorts” presentation on Saturday, but the Animation Panel took place on Friday night and so much was revealed about Toy Story 4, Finding Dory, Moana, Gigantic, and more. A scene the duo shared of a younger Moana playing with the Pacific Ocean, itself a character in the film, suggested they are working in top form in the new medium. “They’re so startlingly dumb it’s hilarious”, he said.

The movie is sitting at a sterling 98% on Rotten Tomatoes, and its success has given us hope for upcoming releases like The Good Dinosaur and Finding Dory.
