DA takes Kouga Municipality in the Eastern Cape from the ANC
The DA officially launched its bid to win over the Eastern Cape a year ago, with Athol Trollip announcing his mayoral campaign for the Nelson Mandela Metro.

Ward 36 now has the DA on 77.41 per cent; the ANC on 14.45 per cent and the EFF on 4.62 per cent.
Kouga DA mayoral candidate Elza van Lingen told the Daily Dispatch the first thing the DA led council would do was to “clean up” the place.
– In Ward 70, the DA has 78 per cent of the votes.
She says the DA has secured two-thirds majority by gaining votes from all race and class groups. The ANC has 28 per cent, the EFF 10 per cent and the FF+ two per cent.
– Ward 82 sees the DA pulling in 55 per cent of the votes.
Rustenburg – The ANC has maintained its lead in the fiercely contested Rustenburg local municipality in the North West province.
– In Ward 84, the DA has 80 per cent of the votes.
– The DA has 86 per cent of the votes in Wasrd 85. The ANC has seven per cent, with the FF+ scoring two per cent.
Out of a total of 26 councils, the ANC won 23 outright and won the highest number of seats in the remaining three, but will have to go into a coalition in order to rule. The EFF is on 19.86 per cent.
– Manguang Bloemfontein: ANC 50 per cent, DA 29 per cent and EFF seven per cent.
In Gauteng as a whole, the ANC is leading with 43.24 per cent, followed closely by the DA on 42.12 per cent and then the EFF on 9.32 per cent.

Ward 39 has the DA leading with 83.33 per cent, followed by the ANC on 9.31 per cent and the EFF on 3.56 per cent.
