The pair had been the target of a manhunt since Tuesday when they allegedly lured the woman and her daughters – aged between 13 and 18 – to a home in Utah and tied them up in the basement.

“It was nearly a relief”, said Lt. Von Steenblik with Centerville Police. “It was a very good end to something that could have gone very badly”. But once he was spotted, he didn’t try to run. Investigators say Harrison had enough food to last him one day and limited camping equipment.
Officers culminated a manhunt late Saturday night with the arrest of Dereck Harrison, several hours after the surrender of his father, the sheriff’s office said.
He said they could find DJ in the Half Moon Area, an area full of rocky and mountainous terrain. “Additionally, he had made several threats against law enforcement officials”.
Early Saturday evening police located Harrison’s campsite and retrieved his camping gear.

Child said Flint Harrison told police that his son “was intent on going out in a blaze of glory, fighting it out with police”. As of Sunday afternoon, no weapons had been recovered.
A woman and her four teenage daughters who were lured to a Utah house and tied up in the basement were thrilled and relieved to learn the father and son charged in the freaky attack were in custody in Wyoming, authorities… “They had this room setup with zip ties or wire ties”.
The younger Harrison was a close friend of the woman’s family. They then slapped away a shotgun that one of the Harrisons was pointing at the mother, and began to beat Dereck Harrison with the baseball bat.
At some point the girls were able to break free from their restraints and managed to flee the house and call 911. It is not clear if father and son will face additional charges in Wyoming. There was no vehicle found in the area. Investigators say they had about 50 officers form ground crews to look in the areas where Harrison had described his son may be.
Now she sits in jail alongside her son and ex-husband.
But on Saturday, after Flint Harrison was arrested, MaryAnn Harrison and DJ Harrison’s grandmother withdrew $10,000 from a bank in Utah and drove to Wyoming. We will make them as carefully and consistently as we can. He was booked into the county jail.
The mother “took a baseball bat to the ribs and was punched in the stomach and was also hit over the head with the baseball bat”, he said. We wish they would, but they may never.
“They’re just refusing to talk to us”.

As for the notion it was due to drug usage, Steenblik said it might be true, but, “There are a lot of people addicted to drugs, but they don’t do these things”.
