Police in the city of Dearborn Heights responded to the family around 1am Wednesday and took a suspect into custody.

DEARBORN HEIGHTS, Mich. (AP) – A Detroit-area man who served 16 years in prison for killing his first wife was charged Thursday with killing his two children and two stepchildren, and torturing his wife.
The Detroit Free Press reported that police initially said the teens were discovered bound in the basement, where their mother was found with knife and gunshot wounds.
A MI man is in custody after a quadruple homicide left his four children dead and their mother in critical condition from an apparent stabbing.
The circumstances of the crime scenes in 1991 and Wednesday are morbidly similar.
A man called police around 1 a.m. Wednesday to the home in the 4400 block of Hipp Street, which is near Annapolis and Pelham streets. After the girls succumbed to carbon monoxide poisoning, the suspect allegedly moved their bodies back inside the home and tucked them into bed.
Wayne County circuit Court online records show Green received a sentence between 15 and 25 years in prison for after pleading no contest to the murder of his wife in February 1992.
The oldest victims, Kara Allen, 17, and Chadney Allen, 19, were the man’s stepchildren, Reuters reported.

According to local media, the man was sitting on the front porch of the house when officers arrived.
After completing several cognitive-based programs, he ultimately was paroled in April 2008.
The children’s mother was also found stabbed and shot. She is listed in fair condition. “I came outside and that’s when I found out what happened”.
According to police, it was Green who called 911 and said that he had killed his family.
Jones said he saw the eldest son mowing the lawn Tuesday.
They just had a Frozen-themed birthday party last Saturday for one of the girls, had a barbecue and a lot of family was there. They had two or three parties this summer where they had get-togethers.

“I’m just shocked”, Radtke said. “I’ve lived here a long time and never saw anything like this”.
