Charlotte, from New Zealand, had the implant – her second – put in at Gillies Hospital after being diagnosed a profoundly deaf in her left ear.
He told The New Zealand Herald that he wanted to show ” my love for her really”. “Hey, my hair can grow back”.
In a similar story, the parents of a little girl called Honey-Rae with an extensive birthmark on her leg decided to get matching tattoos of the mark.
According toThe Huffington Post, Campbell plans on growing his hair but will shave it for special occasions – or anytime his daughter wants a reminder.
“We have a close father-daughter bond, and I thought it would be quite fitting for me to do that”, Alistair said.
In the meantime, Charlotte’s new implant is helping her hear more sound than she ever has before.
When Charlotte saw the tattoo she told her dad it was “cool”.
“She wouldn’t talk to anybody to pretty much a social butterfly”, said Anita. As for Charlotte’s case, the charity’s spokeswoman, Mary Jane Boland, said, “Charlotte has been coming to the Hearing House for a couple of years now, and she’s made great progress”.
An image of him sitting next to his daughter with his inking and her implant visible has since gone viral online, where it has been shared tens of thousands of times.
